Literature Text

It was getting colder in Jerusalem. You helped Malik a lot now. Altair is now the Mentor of the Brotherhood and Malik has forgiven him. You assisted Malik is his work, delivering papers or simply helping him draw maps.

"Quite chilly today, hm?" You asked, hopping down from the grate. He simply hummed in response, sketching out another map you believed.

"What are you working on?" You asked, walking over to his desk. His head snapped up in alarm and he fumbled with the sheet of paper.

"Ah! Uh, nothing. Do not worry. It's just a personal map Altair needs." He coughed. You grinned.

"Sure. Whatever you say Malik." You smirked. He glared at you, but grinned softly. Ever since he forgave Altair, he began to loosen up and smile more. Your heart soared when it was directed to you. Or when he smiled in general.

"Oh hush, novice." He teased, placing his incense on the counter. You watched him sniff it in disgust.

"Ugh. It's old." He muttered, grabbing a new one. He walked into the other room, finding a new one. You glanced at his walking figure and tip-toed quietly behind his desk. You pulled out the sheet of paper and examined it.

"Hm, it seems to be snow...? And two people...dancing?" You hummed, running your fingers gently on the paper. A cough made you drop the paper.

"Why are you looking at my things?" He asked, eyebrows raised. You grinned, ignoring his accusing tone.

"D'aww! Your drawing is so cute Malik! And snow? I wish we had some here!" You sighed, walking over and giving him a side hug. He returned it immediately.

"A man from the market believed it would snow." He mumbled, placing his new incense on the table. Your eyes brightened immediately.

"Really? When?!" You squealed. He smiled at you behavior. He would never admit it, but you had your cute moments.

"I wouldn't believe it. It's cold enough for snow, but it's too humid here." He sighed, also disappointed. You pouted, but grinned.

"Oh well. Shall we make some maps?" You grinned. He grinned softly and agreed.

~Hours later~

You and Malik had drawn enough maps for the novices coming to the bureau tomorrow. It was late now, so Malik let you sleep in his room. You were, according to him, is the only one allowed in his room.

You slept next to him, snuggling in his left side. You slept near the window. He always kept his small window open.

You sighed as you breathed in his scent. He always smelled like ink and incense. He smelled so soothing to you, rather than the bloody feathers you collected.

You snuggled deeper and you heard him grumble. You grinned, but didn't open your eyes as you felt something cold collide on the tip of your nose. You ignored it.

Minutes later, you felt it again, so you growled and shot up. Your rustling woke your friend up.

"What is wrong?" He asked groggily. You shushed him as he glared. There it was again! You looked out the window, only to be rushed by a swirl of white. You gasped and hopped out of the bed.

"Malik! Look! It's snowing!" You shouted. He groaned as he fell onto the cushions. You stood up and readjusted your robes and dashed outside near the lake that was now frozen.

You grinned as you felt the snow melt on your tongue as you neared the frozen lake. You did what the girl in a book you read did; lie on the cold ground and move your legs and arms, making a snow angel.

A disgruntled Malik sauntered near you as you giggled, examine your artwork.

"Simple, yet primitive." Malik grunted. You rolled your eyes.

"You do it then!" You ordered, shoving the man down. He grunted as he collided with the hard ground. You raised your eyebrows when he didn't move. He sighed.

"Fine." He began to move his arm and legs, right next to yours. It must have been a sight, a female assassin and a Dai, doing something that should've been considered childish. He got up seconds later, shivering.

You looked at his snow angel awkwardly.

It had one arm and a small little stub.

Malik closed his eyes and sighed.

"Uh. Sorry." You muttered. He shook his head and forced a smile.

"It's fine." He reassured you. You only smiled a bit until you realized the hands.

"Look! They're holding hands!" You grinned, pointing at the angels' hands. Malik smiled softly.

"So they are." He smiled. You both looked at the angels for awhile until Malik talked.

"Do you know what the people in my drawing were doing?" He asked suddenly. You nodded.

"Dancing." You replied. He shook his head.

"No, they were on ice." He said, walking over to the lake. He slowly placed his boot on the ice and tested its surface. It didn't crack.

"Perfect. Now come here." He ordered. You shook your head.

"No! I don't want to fall into the freezing water and die!" You protested. He laughed loudly and slid over to you.

"Please, I'll hold you." He offered, gently grabbing your arm. You chuckled and sighed.

"Well. Okay. If I die, I'll blame you." You agreed reluctantly. He smiled.

"Have you done this before?" You asked, noticing how easily he slid on the ice.

"Yes, but it wasn't on ice. Altair spilled some type of fluid on the bureau floor. It wouldn't come out, so I had to learn with sliding around." He explained, drifting further away from you.

"I wish I was there- Whoa!" You panicked, slipping and sliding on your boots, trying to regain balance. You regained you balance, heart racing.

You looked up and saw Malik standing perfectly still on the ice, curiously looking at you.

"What?!" You asked, turning behind you. He chuckled.

"Oh nothing! You're just so entertaining to watch." He smirked, sliding around gracefully. Your eyes narrowed with envy.

"I wish I could do that." You sighed, watching your breath turn into white clouds. He stopped moving.

"Come here and I'll teach you." He stated bluntly. You shook your head.

"It's fine. I can deal with standing." You grunted, looking down at your brown boots. He rolled his eyes and slid behind you.

A sudden shove made you gasp.

"Malik!" You screeched, eyes widening. He howled with laughter, watching you panic and scream. You leaned to your right to try and regain balance. You noticed how you were slowly moving right as well. You leaned to your left to confirm your guess.

"Whoa." You muttered, steering your way around the large lake. A sudden blur of darkness caught your attention. Malik.

He was effortlessly gliding through the ice as if he was walking. If you were brave enough to say it out loud, his moves would've been called beautiful. He waited on the other side of the lake, motioning for you to come closer. You rolled your eyes as you tried to speed up.

"How do I go faster?" You shouted.

"Lean forward and move!" He shouted back. You rolled your eyes. Helpful. You leaned forward and started to move faster. Moving on ice with boots was difficult. They should make boots designed for on the ice. They should have a name for this, like... skating. Ice skating.

"Come on! You're almost there!" Malik cheered. You snapped out of your ideas and noticed how fast you were going. You eyes widened when reality hit you.

"Malik! How do I stop?!" You screamed. His eyes widened.

"I don't know! Turn out of the way!" He screamed.

"Why can't you?" You yelled, trying to stop, but to not land on your face.

"Because I'm lazy-"

You stopped, but flew into the air, sailing straight at Malik.

"Zift." Was Malik's last thing he said before you collided onto him into the snow. You were both knocked out on the head.

Once you woke up, you lazily groaned as you opened your eyes. You quickly assessed the position you were in.

You were calmly lying on Malik. That wasn't a shocker. What did surprised you was the fact that he was awake, but he didn't bother pushing you off.

"What am I doing here...?" You groaned. You were to tired to move away from him anyway. Your head was throbbing, too.

Malik only hummed, staring at the moon. It was still cold outside, but not like before. You rolled off of him onto the white snow.

You figured that since Malik was in a good mood, you'd better tell him how felt. Probably right now. No, the moment was too perfect-

"IreallylikeyouMalik." You blurted out. His head snapped to you.

"What?" He asked. You smacked your forehead.

Smooth. Real smooth, (y/n).

You took a deep breath and said it slowly.

"I really like you, Malik..." You sighed. He smirked.

"I understood you the first time. I just wanted to hear it again." He grinned. You glared at him.

"Fine...expressing my feelings, and all I get is a snappy respon-"

A pair of lips met yours as your eyes widened. He released as you as you fell back. He watched your shocked expression with amusement. You noted his expression. He seemed surprised at his actions too.

"Don't be such a novice, (y/n), assuming that I don't like you. I can assure you that I like you very much as well." He said, standing up and sliding over to the ice. You rolled your eyes, but grinned.

He stopped in the middle of the lake.

"Care to join me?" He asked, eyes twinkling in excitement. You smiled widely.

"Yep." You responded, sliding over to him and sliding on the ice for the rest of the night.

The snow melted quickly a few days later, but the last thing to melt was the tow snow angels' hands.
Requested by: :iconbutterfingas:

Ack. I hate this. Hate it. HATE IT. THIS REQUEST WAS FUN, BUT I RUINED IT. I CAN'T WRITE MALIK. I CAN'T. HE IS GREAT, BUT HE IS SO...GAH.
I've noticed by someone that I always make them OOC.
I can't make romance on Assassin's Creed without making them OOC. Think about. Other than Ezio...no.
Gawd. I'm sorry I did this request late...and I'm sorry that I did this first.
It's just that....Malfatto is so...
difficult. (Comment for any mistakes. I got lazy.) I'm sure you know who I am referring to...
sorry.
